Peanut Butter Chicken

Peanut butter chicken

The beauty of peanut butter chicken is that it’s both sweet and savory at the same time. The soy sauce gives it a savory zest, while the peanut butter and honey add sweetness.

Served over rice, this classic recipe is inexpensive and super easy to make.

Peanut Butter Chicken Recipe

You can make this with any type of chicken, including skinless, boneless breasts. But to save money, I use bone-in chicken thighs and legs.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 pounds chicken (I use bone-in thighs and drumsticks)
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

Mix all ingredients except the chicken thighs well in the crock pot. Then add the chicken thighs and stir to coat them well.

Put the lid on the crock pot and cook it on low for 6 hours.

Serve the chicken thighs over rice with some of the gravy left in the crock pot. I also like to serve these with a side of Asian slaw.
